Hyperbaric oxygen therapy chambers for hospitals and clinics
81 named medical installations2007–2026
Hipertech builds multiplace and monoplace hyperbaric chambers for hospitals, universities, private centers and research institutes. Which one you specify comes down to how many patients sit in a session and how much room the building can give the hull.
Medical chamber families compared
| Chamber | Occupancy | Distinguishing feature | Named projects | Delivered |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Multiplace Quadro | Multiple patients | Rectangular section | 1 | 2013 |
| Multiplace Omega | 4+2 to 14+2 | Omega-shaped hull | 61 | 2007–2026 |
| Monoplace | One patient | Clear acrylic or Lexan hull | 16 | 2009–2026 |
Named projects counts the public reference list only. Military, government and private buyers under non-disclosure are not named, so the count here is lower than the number delivered.
Each family, and the session size and room it is specified for
Two multiplace chambers for group sessions under a medical attendant, and one single-patient chamber for a room the hospital already has.
Multiplace Quadro
Occupancy: Multiple patients
A rectangular section rather than a cylinder, for centers that want more interior volume and have the room to take it. A 120 cm door and a low threshold; the same compliance set as the Omega.
Multiplace Omega
Occupancy: 4+2 to 14+2
The omega-shaped multiplace chamber, in standard configurations from four patients plus two attendants to fourteen plus two, and the most-installed of the three.
Monoplace
Occupancy: One patient
One patient, a full-clear or semi-clear acrylic hull, and an operator panel on the outside. Its safety and operator systems are standard rather than optional.

How a session is run in a hyperbaric chamber
A session is a pressure cycle the operator runs from outside the chamber: compression, a period at session pressure while the occupants breathe oxygen, then decompression. The pressure, the breathing gas and the length of each session are set by the physician responsible for the chamber.
The occupants go in at sea-level pressure. In a multiplace chamber the patients take their seats with a medical attendant inside; in a monoplace the single patient lies on a height-adjustable stretcher that runs into the hull, and the door is closed and locked.
The operator raises the pressure gradually, so the occupants can equalize their ears as it rises. Pressure is stated in atmospheres absolute (ATA): 1 ATA is sea-level pressure, and each 10 m of seawater adds about 1 ATA, so 2 ATA is the pressure about 10 m down and 2.8 ATA the pressure about 18 m down.
At session pressure the occupants breathe 100% oxygen. Each patient breathes it through a mask or a hood while the chamber itself holds compressed air, in a monoplace as in a multiplace. Under pressure more oxygen dissolves in the blood plasma than at sea level, because the amount of a gas that dissolves in a liquid rises with its pressure (Henry’s law).
Where the physician’s protocol includes them, the occupants come off oxygen at set intervals and breathe air for a short period before going back on oxygen. The pressure does not change during an air break.
At the end of the session the operator brings the chamber back down to 1 ATA at a controlled rate, and the occupants leave once it is at sea-level pressure.
Who runs it
The physician responsible for the hyperbaric service selects the patients and sets each session’s protocol. An operator runs the chamber from outside it, at the HiperFlow control desk or the monoplace’s operator panel. In a multiplace chamber a medical attendant sits inside with the patients. Hipertech Academy trains operators, technicians, nurses and doctors for these roles.
Safety systems, per family
Each family carries its own safety systems as standard.
- Multiplace Omega
- Constant oxygen concentration monitoring, AI patient surveillance at every seat, three-stage fire suppression to EN 16081 and NFPA 99.
- Multiplace Quadro
- Three-stage fire suppression to EN 16081 and NFPA 99, under the HiperFlow automation system.
- Monoplace
- An O₂ analyser with over-limit alarm, a fire fighting system to NFPA 99, a patient alarm and quick-stop button, a safety door lock, an emergency depressurisation valve, and a data-logger that keeps session records for up to two years.
What comes with the chamber
Hipertech is a manufacturer, but the chamber is the middle of the job rather than the end of it. Installation, commissioning, maintenance and operator training are delivered by the same company that built the vessel, and the automation platform inside it is Hipertech’s own.

Delivered alongside the chamber
- Installation and commissioning
- On-site installation, commissioning and turnkey HBO center delivery.
- Maintenance
- Periodic maintenance and technical services, and spare parts from long-standing supplier partners.
- Training
- Operator, technical, medical, maintenance and safety training through Hipertech Academy, with participants certified by Hipertech.
- Project design
- 3D modeling and custom turnkey HBO center development.
- HiperFlow
- Hipertech’s own automation platform, which controls, logs and monitors the chamber.
